About Us

We are the Center for Computational Pharmacology (CCP) at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. The center's aim is to provide novel algorithms and knowledge-based tools for the analysis and interpretation of high-throughput molecular biology data and for information extraction from and management of the biomedical literature. The director of the CCP is Larry Hunter.

Knowtator was written at by Philip Ogren. Please direct all questions, comments, and suggestions re Knowtator to the Knowtator help/discussion forum.

• Protégé: This work would not be possible without the very excellent Protégé tool. The very careful design of Protégé makes it easy to extend and we are thankful they have made this tool available to the community.
• WordFreak: Knowtator was inspired, in part, by the very useful WordFreak annotation tool. We have had success creating annotated text using WordFreak and have liberally borrowed ideas and code from this project.

The PICorpus: Protein Interaction Corpus was refactored from the original PDG corpus by Helen L. Johnson, Bill Baumgartner and Kevin Cohen. Please direct all questions, comments, and suggestions re the PICorpus to the PIC help/discussion forum.
